Fire Log

The Santa Fe New Mexican did something interesting last week as its circulation area was being affected by forest fires. It began publishing a “Fire Log” consisting of reader’s responses to the fires in short, blog-like style. Interesting example of letting the reader blog and also gathering information and anecdotes for potential stories.

Herald Blog

Liz Donovan unveils her weblog on the Miami Herald’s site. Nice to see another Knight-Ridder paper support this kind of thing. On her own site she notes that “it’s not a true blog since there are no blogging tools on the Website, but I’ve managed to scratch out a reasonable facsimile.”
