Sundays

We’re not sure why, or even how she knows, but Carolyne seems to treat Sundays very differently from other days. For starters, she usually sleeps in, which is mystifying to us. One morning we hauled her out of the crib at 10 a.m. because we were going to be late for church if she continued to snooze. Today wasn’t like that, but she still slept until 8 a.m., which is a good hour later than usual (I should note that Leslye’s schedule is pretty consistent, so it’s not like there’s no activity earlier).

She seems to enjoy church, and we’ve been leaving her in the nursery for the past couple of weeks in order to get her used to that sort of thing (and so that she doesn’t continue to “comment” on the sermons). But even after a good nap this afternoon, she decided that solid foods were too much of a problem for her dinner, and rather forcefully declined our attempts and called it an evening. The really strange thing is, by most measures she’s fine on Mondays.
