With all the complex situations facing the United States these days, it’s nice to see that our leaders are doing something about it. Namely, renaming Congress’ investigative agency, the General Accounting Office, to the Government Accountability Office. Imbued with a new sense of self, the GAO (at least they won’t have to change the URL) can now free themselves to tackle the nation’s problem. I feel better already. Oh, lest you think that this bill isn’t going anywhere, it is sponsored by the chairman of the House Government Reform Committee and there’s a companion bill in the Senate, too.
The cynic in me is *not* holding his breath…
