From the Sydney Morning Herald: “A Monty Python quote so esoteric even the judge admitted having difficulty understanding what it meant was the focus of a defamation trial yesterday between two media companies.” Apparently the Herald’s publisher referred to a television station’s Christmas party using the following line from a Python skit: “You sit there on your loathsome spotty behinds squeezing blackheads, not giving a tinker’s cuss about the struggling artist.” The station’s lawyer said it was “difficult to understand,” but was certain that “it’s perfectly clear it’s not saying something nice about Channel Nine.” Good headline on the story, too.
